![]() Update (24 July 2018): I changed the computer name to colossus in El Capitan and still have the same problem where Emacs sometimes uses colossus and sometimes colossus.local. How can I set the computer name that Emacs uses to a constant value? This happens in both El Capitan 10.11.6 and High Sierra 10.13.4. ![]() I would rather avoid disabling the locking feature with setting create-lock-files to nil. Sometimes, the computer name reverts back to the first and Emacs "owns the lock" again. The computer name with system_profiler SPSoftwareDataType is none of these two, but Computer Name: Miguelâs MacBook Pro (3). #gtd.org -> I ask to save this latter file, Emacs says. That, of course, still was able to use /usr/texbin so /Library/TeX/texbin wasn't created since El Capitan wasn't even a ``glimmer in Apple's eye'' at the time. > Note: I see that you are using MacTeX-2014 (TeX Live 2014). THESE RIGS SIMULATE AN UNDERWATER SCHOOL OF BAIT FISH THAT WILL BE SURE TO CAPTURE THE ATTENTION OF ANY NEAR BY GAME FISH. THE RIGS ARE AVAILABLE IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT MODELS. But you are using a browser which doesnt support SVG and so you get the boring looking page. THIS IS A GREAT TOOL FOR LOCATING FISH AND AN EXCELLENT TOOL FOR STRIPERS, HYBIRDS, BLUEFISH, SPANISH MACKEREL AND OTHER GAME FISH. > As I said, the problem was that the latex command in AUCTeX was changed from latex to pdflatex (don't know when?) and the pdf mode was selected so Aquamacs was trying to execute pdfpdflatex. Usually theres a nifty page here with a big download button. > The only time we've seen problems with using that is if someone played with /etc/profile and eliminated the processing of the contents of /etc/paths.d. MacTeX-2015 installs a file in /etc/paths.d which sets /Library/TeX/texbin as part of the PATH variable. I didn't really know how to find it until Etore gave the incantation to me (haven't used emacs since the 1980s). So, that route will require people to upgrade their MacTeX install after installing El Capitan. > Aquamacs will pick up the /Library path in a future version, but not the /usr/local/texlive/2014 one. > export PATH=/Library/TeX/texbin:/usr/local/texlive/2014/bin/x86_64-darwin:$PATH At the moment, the 3.6 is compiled only for the x86 architecture. This release is compiled to run on any Mac OS version from El Capitan (10.11) forward. ![]() ![]() Several of the bundled Emacs Lisp packages have been updated to more recent versions. It appears that newer MacTeX installations might install into a different path, or at least no longer link /usr/texbin (which may be a protected directory under El Capitan). ![]() > On Oct 30, 2015, at 7:53 AM, David Reitter wrote: > On Oct 30, 2015, at 9:10 AM, Herbert Schulz wrote: Aquamacs an editor for Text, HTML, LaTeX, C++, Java, Python, R, Perl, Ruby, PHP, and more.
